Hortense- Levi “Gordon” Howard, Jr. 79, of Hortense passed away Sunday (May 26, 2019) at Hospice of Golden Isles in Brunswick.
Born in Eastman, Ga. His parents were Levi Gordon Howard, Sr. and Mary Pauline Rogers Howard. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Moody Howard and a brother, John Needham Howard.
Gordon was a member of Satilla Baptist Church. He retired after many years with Brunswick Pulp and Paper. He and his wife also owned The Peanut Shack in the Glynn Place Mall. He loved his grandbabies and his puppy and companion, Miley.
Survivors include 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Angela Denise Allen (Powell) and Renee Lang, all of Brunswick; 6 grandchildren and spouses, Christa Free (Wesley), Nicholas Stan (Chris), Lindsay Moran, Courtney Graham (Alan), Taylor Moran, and Tyler Lang; 3 great grandchildren, Madison Hall, Rylee Lang, and Lincoln Stan; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Monie Lou Tripp, of Nahunta, and Diane Warren (Myron) of North Augusta, S.C. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon (June 1, 2019) from 1PM- 2PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday afternoon (June 1, 2019) at 2PM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Gill and Rev. Terry Jackson officiating.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
