Hahira – Lewis Addison Strickland, 80, of Hahira passed away Saturday evening (February 17, 2018) at his residence after an extended illness.
Born in Nahunta, GA his parents were Harrell Addison Strickland and Renna Purdom Strickland. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ruth Batten Strickland.
Lewis was a farmer and served in the United States Army. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed quail hunting, farming, and tractors.
Survivors include his sister, Sarah Jane Thibodeaux of Nahunta; nephew and his spouse, Tony Henrique (Louise) of Nahunta; step daughter & her spouse, Terri Hernandez (Valentin); 8 step grandchildren and their spouses, Shalon Smith (Ann Laura), Anna Lopez (Asael), Maranda Lopez(Luis), Jordon Smith (Britteny), Emma Velazquez, Evan Velazquez, Jacke Velazquez and Jr. Velazquez; 13 step great grandchildren; Maranda, Anthony, Ashton, Enrique, Gabriel, Aubrey, Roland, Mia, David, Calliana, Haven, Aero, and Maddux; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held Saturday morning (February 24, 2018) at 11am at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Bishop Raymond Willis officiating.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
