Lewis Erwin Spears

Mr. Lewis Erwin Spears, 60, of Kingsland, Georgia died late Saturday evening (Jan. 16, 2016) at The Hospice of The Golden Isle in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Lakeland, Florida his parents are the late Erwin Spears and Bessie Juanita Higginbotham Spears, of Nahunta, GA.. He was preceded in death by his father and his 2nd wife Carolyn Sheffield Spears.

A veteran of The United States Air Force Mr. Spears was a member of Christ Church of Camden County. He loved people enjoyed golfing and boating. He held a Bachelors Degree and retired from the State of Georgia where he had worked as a Field Coordinator Officer.

Survived by his loving wife, Kristina Edgy Spears, of Kingsland, 2-sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Christy McLeod, Brian and Holly McLeod, all of Waycross, 2-daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole and Dustin "Duck" Causey, Kristin and James Carver, all of Hortense, 2-step-daughters, Amanda Johanson, of Raleigh, N.C., Tamara Greohosky (Ray), of Blacksburg, VA, 14 grandchildren; his mother, Bessie Juanita Higginbotham Spears, of Nahunta; his twin brother, Lance Spears (Patti), of Jacksonville, FL., brother, Mark Spears (Jodie), of Groveland, FL., 2-sisters, Jo Ann Peace (Lamar), of Lakeland, FL., and Karen S. Forfar (Ken), of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL., also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be Monday evening starting at 6 PM at The Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta.

Funeral services for Mr. Lewis E. Spears will be held Tuesday morning (Jan. 19, 2016) at 10 A.M. from the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Clevenger and Rev. Jerry Johns.

Interment will follow at The New Hope Cemetery in Hickox, Georgia.

Pallbearers will be Brian McLeod, Howard McLeod, James Carver, Dustin Causey, Mark and Lance Spears.

Honorary pallbearers will be TSS Staff: Active and Retired.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
