Nahunta – Libby Dean Crews Brooker, 67, of Nahunta passed away Friday morning (September 16, 2016) at Folkston Park/ Genesis Healthcare Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Born in Nahunta, GA her parents were Perry Brinson Crews and Bonnie Bell Hendrix Bell. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Hurst Brooker; a granddaughter, Caitlin Brooker; a brother, Danny Crews; and a sister, Maxine Crews Cone.
Libby attended 13 years of school without missing a day and was a cosmetologist, who retired after 32 years with Glynn Place Mall Barber Shop. She was a very strong, loving, and caring independent woman who loved the Lord, her family, and most of all her grandchildren. Libby was a member of Ivory Palace Church and also loved being outdoors, going to church, helping others, and starting prayer chains for anyone who needed prayers.
Survivors include her son, Freddie Coy Brooker, of Waynesville; her daughter and son-in-law, Joy Brooker Evans (Pat), of Waynesville; 4 grandchildren, Austin Brooker, Alex Brooker, Bryce Evans, and Brooke Michelle Evans; a brother and sister-in-law, J.D. Crew (Linda) of Kingsland; a special friend/ sister, Catherine Middleton, of Nahunta; special friends, Greg Middleton, Jason Middleton and Lulu Wilson, all of Nahunta; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held Monday evening (September 19, 2016) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (September 20, 2016) at 11AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Johns, Bishop Raymond Willis, and Rev. Emory Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Derwin Brooker, Matt Brooker, Jeremy Brooker, Alan Blocker, Buck Crews, Emory Crews, Juke Johns, and Cale Flowers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the girls and staff of Designs Unlimited.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
