Lillie "Lucy" Mae Cathcart

Waynesville – Lillie "Lucy" Mae Clay Cathcart, 67, of Waynesville passed Tuesday afternoon (May 3, 2022) at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Brunswick, GA her parents were Leonidas Brevard Clay and Lillie M. Joyner Clay. She is also preceded in death by her son, William “Bubba” Bradham, Jr.; 2 brothers, Ervin Clay and John Clay; and 2 sisters, Connie Wiggins and Erie Lockhart.
Lillie was a homemaker and a co-founder of the Star Team for the Waynesville Fire Department. She loved working in her flowers and being active with the Waynesville Fire Department.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Cathcart of Waynesville; 3 brothers, Lee Roy Clay of Waynesville, Alton Clay of Waynesville and Talmadge Clay of Atlanta; 3 sisters, Onita Turner of Darien, Marie Kern of Waynesville and Lou Ellen Hellams of South Carolina; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
