Waynesville – Lillie Mae Smith Johnson, 89, of Waynesville passed away Friday morning (December 7, 2018) at Bayview Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Born in Elba, AL her parents were Lemuel Ellis Smith and Eva Mae Watson Smith. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Johnson; her son, David Johnson; a daughter, Mary Ann Taylor; 4 grandchildren, David Johnson, Jr., Angie Johnson, Lisa Johnson, and Chris Taylor; great grandson, Christopher Taylor; 2 daughters-in-law, Janice Johnson and Kim Johnson; and 2 brothers, James Smith and Wilmer Smith.
Lillie was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She loved watching westerns, gardening and doing yard work.
Survivors include her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Johnson Smith (James) of Waynesville and Brenda Clark (Rex) of White Oak; 4 sons and a daughter-in-law, Joe Johnson of Lulaton, Terry Johnson of Waynesville, Jerry Johnson (Teresa) of Waynesville and Donnie Johnson of Brunswick;son-in-law, David Taylor; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; a sister, Merle Danford of Jacksonville; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon (December 15, 2018)at 11AM at King Memorial Baptist Church.
