Hortense- Mrs. Lilly Pearl Lauderdale Phillips, 79 of Hortense, passed away Tuesday evening (July 15, 2014) at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Athens, AL her parents were Rex and Ada Mears Lauderdale. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Phillips; a daughter, Thelma Ryals; 2 grandsons, Carl Rooks, Jr. and Baby Boy Rooks; a great granddaughter, Jorja Rooks; a Great Grandson, Emory Myers; and a Brother, Carl Lauderdale. Lilly was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She also loved her family and grand kids, playing cards, and talking on the phone. Survivors include her 4 daughters, Donna & Billy Myers of Nahunta, Tammy & Preston King of Hortense, Wanda & Jerry Gailey of Hortense and Lorraine & Jeff Morgan of Nahunta; 9 grandchildren, William Myers, Jr. (Michelle) of Waynesville, Marsha Myers of Washington State, Mark Myers (Katrina)of Waynesville, Jason Rooks (Beth) of Brunswick, Kimberly Bragg of Nahunta, Scott Perry of Hortense, John Kevin Rooks (April) of Waynesville, Jeffery Morgan and Chris Morgan both of Nahunta; 17 great grandchildren; special companion, Sam Rentz of Hortense; 2 sisters, Annie Lou Goodin of Athens, AL and Sue Pugh of Elkmont, AL; a sister-in-law, Virginia Lauderdale of Elkmont, Al. Also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Thursday evening (July 17, 2014) starting at 6PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Friday afternoon (July 18, 2014) at 2PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Wilbur Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Rooks, William Myers,Jr., Mark Myers, Scott Perry, Jason Rooks, Chris and Jeffery Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be Regina Thompson, Melissa Koch, Christina Maddox, Lee Melton, Marsha Myers, and Kimberly Bragg. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
