Linda Deen

Hortense-Linda Jean Hendricks Deen, 68 of Hortense, passed away Sunday night (May 11, 2014) at Hospice of the Golden Isles, in Brunswick following an extended illness. Born in Brunswick, GA her parents were Samuel Hendricks and Penny Lee Hendricks. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Lamar Deen, Sr.; a brother, Tommy Hendricks; and a sister, Ellen Barlow. Linda worked many years as a self-employed seamstress. She was of the Christian Faith and loved cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Lamar "Robbie" Deen, Jr. (Alisa), and Brad Deen (Stefane), all of Hortense; 6 grandchildren, Brittani and Zachary Deen, Houston, Ramsey, Jolie, and Bentley Deen, all of Hortense; 3 brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert Hendricks, of Brunswick, Bo Hendricks (Mary), of Hortense, and Dick Hendricks, of Texas; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Nita Tompkins (Tom), of Hortense, Wannelle Williams (Stanley), of Hortense, Jackie Carlin (Jimmy), of Dovers Bluff, and Debbie Davis (Bozy), of Brunswick. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening (May 14, 2014) starting at 6PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday morning (May 15, 2014) at 11AM at Little Cemetery with Rev. Tim King officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
