Offerman- Linda Sue Godfrey Hawkins Durden, 50, of Offerman died Saturday afternoon (July 27, 2013) at her sister's residence after an extended illness. Born in Juneau, Alaska her parents are Edwin Joseph Godrey, Jr. of Jesup, GA and Mamie Lou Nichols Brinkley of Waynesville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Edward Durden, Jr. Linda was a homemaker and of the Nazarene Faith. She loved being around kids, her family and eating donuts. Survivors include her son, Clayton Edward Durden, II, of Brunswick; 2 daughters, Sara Louise Griffin of Jesup and Melinda "Danielle" Durden of Waynesville; 3 grandchildren, Gracie Griffin, Macalin Griffin and Holden Hawkins; her parents; 5 sisters and brothers-in-law, Sara & David Davis of Offerman, Florence & Danny May of TN, Brenda Hendrix of Claxton, Mary & Kass Morgan of Brunswick and Teresa & Brent Croft of Claxton; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Monday evening (July 29, 2013) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (July 30, 2013) at 11AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta with Rev. R.C. Mathis and Rev. Keith Brown officiating. Burial will be in Offerman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bruce McCullars, Trey Cason, Joshua Stewart, David Davis, Jr., Shelby Murray and Jessie Mobley. Honorary pallbearers will be Damon Winters and Jerry Crews. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com
