Linda Taft Oberry

Woodbine-Linda Lucille Taft Lunsford O'Berry, 64 of Woodbine, died Wednesday afternoon (April 11, 2012) at Hospice of the Golden Isles, in Brunswick, following an extended illness. Born in Waycross, GA, her parents were Jesse William and Janie Mae O'Berry. She is also preceded in death by 2 former husbands, Johnny Lunsford, and Otis O'Berry, a son, Douglas Edward "Chubby" Lunsford, a daughter, Theresa Lunsford Greene, and her maternal grandparents, Beatrice Thornton, and Banner O'Berry. Linda was a homemaker, and she was of the Baptist faith. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and loved cooking for her family, especially biscuits. Linda was a country girl, who everyone loved. Survivors include 2 daughters, Denise "Punkin" Lunsford & fiancé, Pete Hensley, of Woodbine, and Rita Ann Lunsford, of Gastonia, NC; 3 sons, John David Lunsford, Robert Wayne "Bobby" Lunsford, and Benny Boyd Lunsford, all of Gastonia, NC.; 16 grandchildren, including 2 special grandchildren, Diddle & Shannon; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Larry Mitchell and Beverly Taft, of Ft. Pierce, Fl, and James Mitchell Taft, of Yulee, Fl., and a sister and brother-in-law, Verdie Taft and Steve Wallace, of Myrtle Beach, SC. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon (April 14, 2012) at 12PM, at Colesburg Cemetery, with Rev. Chuck Harris, and Rev. Stacey Irvin officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Lunsford, Diddle Jewell, Clyde Crews, Donnie Crews, Edwin Griffin, David Conner, B.J.
