Lizzie Mae O'Neal Mejia

Nahunta – Lizzie Mae O’Neal Mejia, 68, of Nahunta passed away Saturday evening (July 2, 2022) at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick after an extended illness.
Born in Nahunta, GA her parents were Jesse Willie O’Neal and Rosa Mae Stewart O’Neal. She is also preceded in death by 6 brothers, J.W. O’Neal, James Edward O’Neal, Douglas Albert O’Neal, Nathan Stewart O’Neal, Terry O’Neal and Jerry O’Neal; and a sister, Katy Ann O’Neal.
Lizzie was a homemaker and a member of Christian Faith Chapel. She loved playing with her grandchildren, cooking, baking and reading.
Survivors include 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Rosie Kinsey (James), Hatty Rhoden (German Rivas) and Marthy Rhoden (Larry Dixon) all of Nahunta; 5 grandchildren, Trey Rhoden (Lexie Warner), Dawson Dixon (Haley Russell) and Dakota Dixon, Chico Rivas, and Brandi Manning all of Nahunta; 4 great grandchildren, Zaylee Rhoden, Zaden Warner, and Braxton Warner and Raylee Manning all of Nahunta; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur Gene “Buster” O’Neal (Janice) and Donald Ernest O’Neal (Pam Moore) all of Nahunta; 3 sisters-in-law, Mary O’Neal and Inez O’Neal both of Nahunta and Jerri O’Neal of Blackshear; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (July 5, 2022) from 6pm-8pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning (July 6, 2022) at 11am at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Allen and Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Burial will follow in McClellan O’Neal Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Timmy O’Neal, Donnie O’Neal, Jimmy O’Neal, Charlie O’Neal, Jimmy Kinsey and Mike Deslauriers.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
