Lois Johnson Dixon, age 99, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2009 Following a brief illness at her home. Born in Dial, GA, she was raised in Blueridge, GA. Preceded in death by her husband Joseph Dixon; parents Edward and Malissa Johnson and other family. Came to Ohio upon graduation in Georgia to live with her sister Myrtle Clark and family. While in Columbus, she met Georgia native, Joe Dixon and was happily married 63 years until Joe's passing at age 93. She was an avid reader, story-teller and she and Joe loved to travel. She worked for Bell Telephone Company and Volunteers of America. She was an active member of the Dublin Historical Society and The Lois Club. Served as Grand Leprechaun for the last year St. Patrick Day Parade in Dublin, Ohio. She lived by the philosophy of "Never Hurry, Never Worry and Acceptance is the Greatest Accomplishment." She is survived by a brother, Fred Johnson; a niece, Virginia (Frank) Neuhauser; nephew, Edward (Janie) Brand; three generations of nephews, nieces and cousins; and friends coast to coast. Visitation will be Thursday evening starting 6 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home (formerly Chambless-Frye), Nahunta. Funeral services will be Friday morning (March 13, 2009) at 11:00 a.m. at Frye Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray McMillan officiating. Burial will followed in Shiloh Cemetery, Pierce Co, GA. Pallbearers will be John Shields, Dru Smith, Donovan Strickland, Douglas Brand, Robby Thomas and Chuck McMonigle. In Lieu of flowers, friends are invited to give to the charity of their choice.
