Lonnie 'Cecil' Harris

Nahunta- Lonnie "Cecil" Harris, 71 of Nahunta, passed away late Tuesday (October 22, 2013) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, following a sudden illness. Born in Nahunta, GA., his parents were Frank and Mary Wainright Harris. He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Johnny Harris, Herman Harris, Frankie Harris, Gilmore Harris, and Sammy Curry. Cecil enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and loved spending time with his grandkids and family. He served in the United States Army, and was of the Baptist Faith. Cecil worked many years at Owens and Pridgen as a Crane Operator. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Claudine Douberly Harris, of Nahunta; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim Cecil Harris (Ericka), of Waycross; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicky Raleigh (Ricky), of Stuart, FL; 5 grandchildren, Mallory Thrift, Isabella Raleigh, Rick Raleigh, Jr., Conner Harris, and Collin Harris; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha Alldreadge (Robert), of Nahunta, and Carolyn O'Berry (Larry), of Folkston, GA. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Visitation will be held Thursday evening (October 24, 2013) at 6 PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Friday (October 25, 2013) at 2 PM, at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Knox Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Raleigh, Jr., Donnie Smith, Terry Lane, Leon Able, Wiley Crews, and Jerome Hanchey, Grady Bawkin, and Perry Herrin. Honorary Pallbearer will be Stanley Herrin.
