Louise L. Melton

Waycross-Louise Locklear Melton, 86 of Waycross, passed away Wednesday (January 1, 2014) at Sears Manor in Brunswick following an extended illness. Born in Argyle, GA, her parents were George W. and Willie Howell Locklear. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Reamer "Ray" Locklear. Louise worked as a Cigar Packager for King Edward Cigar Factory. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Waycross, and enjoyed sewing, cooking, socializing, and dancing. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-n-law, Susan Cox Pittman (Eric), Woodbine, Brenda Crosby (Johnny), Brunswick; four grandchildren, Wesley Rowell (Journie), Leesburg, GA, Elizabeth Glass, Waycross, Matthew Pittman, Woodbine, and Joani Williford (Eric), Brunswick; three great grandchildren, Ty Howard , Madrean Howard, both of Leesburg,GA., and Erica Williford, Brunswick; and a sister-n-law, Pam Locklear, Crescent City, Fl. Also several Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday evening (January 3, 2014) at 6:00 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (January 4, 2014) at 11:00 AM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Florey officiating. Burial will follow in the Emmanuel Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Pittman, Shannon Locklear, Ken Martin, John Rowell, Mike Williams, and Bart Bennett. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
