Waycross – Lula Mae Harrison Robinson, 96, of Waycross passed away early Saturday morning (February 25, 2023) at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Hickox, GA her parents were George W. Harrison and Mary Jacobs Harrison. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Albert Kelly Robinson; a sister, Christine Harrison; a brother, Robert E. Harrison; and a special cousin, Curtis Jacobs.
Lula Mae was a teacher for Brantley County Board of Education and a charter member of Southside Baptist Church. She is known to everyone as the Queen of Caney Bay and loved her family dearly. Lula Mae loved fishing in the Satilla River, reading, painting and working in her flower garden.
Survivors include her nieces and nephew, Angie Harrison Ham of Augusta, Janet Wilson (Glenn) of Thomson, GA and Bobby Harrison of Augusta; a great niece, Kellie Renee Ham; 2 great nephews, Ashley R. Ham (Laura) and Robert Alan Wilson (Virginia); 5 great great nieces and nephews, Ryan A. Ham, Sara Beth Ham, Ashley Grace Ham, Charlotte Wilson and Georgia Wilson; 4 special cousins, Gail Tumlin, Arlene Bass, David Jacobs and Debbie Colvin; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held Monday morning (February 27, 2023) at 11am at New Hope Cemetery with Bro. David Jacobs officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way Waycross, GA 31501 and to New Hope Cemetery, 4800 Caney Bay Rd Nahunta, GA 31553.
The family would like to give special thanks to the ladies at Abide Home Care, Visiting Angels Home Care and Satilla Hospice.
