Flowery Branch – Major Everett Elisha “Bubba” Pritchard, Jr., 90, of Flowery Branch passed away Wednesday night (November 30, 2016) at his residence.
Born in Fitzgerald, GA his parents were Everett Elijah and Eloise McCranie Pritchard, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Jean Griffin James Pritchard; stepson, Jay James; granddaughter, Kelly Denise Lee; a brother, Judge M.C. Pritchard; and a sister, Louise Faulk.
Major Everett retired from the United States Air Force after 27 years where he served in WWII, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He received a Bachelor degree in engineering from Georgia Tech and the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Everett was a loving father, grandfather, and uncle who always had a smile on his face. He loved telling and playing jokes, watching Georgia Tech football, fishing and was an avid Golfer before his health declined.
Survivors include his son, Craig Pritchard of Flowery Branch, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy Pritchard Dowis Cohran (Larry) of Dawsonville, GA; 2 step children, Jeannie McFarland and Ginger James; 2 grandchildren, Adrienne Dowis Terrell (Chris) and Evan Nick Cohran (Danielle Jordan); 4 great grandchildren, Isaac Dean, Aiden Terrell, Heather Cohran, and Ethan Everett Terrell; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Sunday afternoon (December 4, 2016) at 3PM at Oakland Cemetery in Waycross with Reverend Kit Brinson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Oakland Cemetery.
