Malva Alice Brown

Mrs. Malva Alice Keen Brown,79,of Nahunta died early Sunday morning (May 3, 2009) at her residence after a long illness. Born in Hilliard, Florida she was the daughter of Colonel Brantley Keen, Sr. and Ocie Dukes Keen. Mrs. Brown graduated High School in 1946 and married Ira F. Brown, Jr. in 1961. They owned the Ira Brown mills, Inc.. where she served as CEO, she retired from the Brantley Telephone Company and was a member of The Eastern Star. Mrs. Brown was a very active member of The Nahunta First Baptist Church where she served in many positions. She taught Sunday School for 35 years, GAs, RAs, Vacation Bible School and Training Unions. Also served with The Brantley County Historical Society. Preceded in death by her Parents, her husband Ira F. Brown, Jr., a sister, Mildred Keen, a brother, Colonel Brantley Keen, Jr., 2 nephews, Ephraim and Jeff Keen. Survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle and Tim Hickox, of Hoboken, a sister-in-law, Evelyn Keen, of Hickox, also several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and a host of friends. Visitation will be Monday evening at the funeral home starting at 5 P.M.. Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be Tuesday morning (May 5, 2009) at 10: 00 A.M. from the Nahunta First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Carson and Dr. W. Derrell Rentz officiating. Burial will be in the Smyrna Cemetery in Lulaton. Pallbearers will be Deacons of the Nahunta First Baptist Church. Honorary are The Martha Ladies Sunday School Class, Edward Chancey, David Adams and Graham Waters. All are ask to meet at the church by 9:30 Tuesday.
