Nahunta - Mrs. Margaret "Ruth" Rhoden Thomas, 74, of Nahunta died late Thursday evening (January 8, 2015) at Bayview Nursing Home after an extended illness. Born in Jesup, GA her parents were Larry Lamar and Abbie Moore Rhoden. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Thomas; a daughter, Debra McKenzie; a granddaughter, Tiffany Crews; 2 brothers, Junior Rhoden and J.L Rhoden; and a sister, Colleen McClellan. Mrs. Ruth was a retired LPN and a member of Nahunta Church of God. She loved fishing, doing puzzles and reading the encyclopedia. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Marie & Ronald Cox of Waycross; 3 grandchildren, Trevor James McKenzie, RJ Cox, and Angela Cox Barnes; 5 great grandchildren, Stephen Martin, Kensley Crews, Charlene Cox, Hunter Barnes, and Lyndsay Barnes; a sister, Carolyn Adamczyk of Nahunta; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Saturday evening (January 10, 2015) from 6-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (January 11, 2015) at 3PM at Nahunta Church of God with Rev. Charles Florey officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rusty Barnes, John Walker, RJ Cox, Trevor McKenzie, Ronald Cox, Paul Morgan, and Collin Causey. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Brantley County EMS. Pallbearers are asked to meet at the church Sunday by 2:30PM. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
