Mary Davis Ammons

Waynesville – Mary Elizabeth Davis Ammons, 74, of Waynesville passed away Monday afternoon (November 20, 2023) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Tampa, FL her parents were Sherman Davis and Elizabeth Oduma White Davis. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Oleta Crews.

Mary was a homemaker and loved to play bingo, watching movies especially Disney movies and collecting roosters and antiques.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Ammons of Waynesville; 3 daughters, Marie Carter of Nahunta, Carolyn Ammons and Heather Ammons (Fiancé Billy Perry) both of Waynesville; a son and daughter-in-law, Adam Ammons (Candace) of NC; 9 grandchildren, Zach Johns, Devin Crosby, Dalton Ammons, Lauren Ussery, Bailey Carter, Gabby Ammons, Hayden Ammons, Rachel Ammons and Boss Ammons; 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Brenda Imm and Rita Lewis both of Tampa, FL; nieces and nephews, Helen Jones, Lonnie Pybas, Joey Guinn, Brent Imm, Ethan Imm, Dusty Lewis and Kevin Lewis; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
