Mary Florence Blaylock

Brunswick- Mary "Florence" Sloan Blaylock, 79, of Brunswick died Friday night (May 31, 2013) at Fair Haven Assisted Living in Brunswick after an extended illness. Born in Hortense, GA her parents were William Arthur and May Lynn Adams Sloan. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur Scott Blaylock, Jr. and 2 sisters. Mrs. Florence was a teacher for Okaloosa Baker County School and a long time resident of Crestview, FL before returning to Georgia. Her love of children and teaching extended from her own family to her class rooms in Baker County Schools. Also she was a member of Hortense Church of God of Prophecy. Survivors include her 5 children and their spouses, Arthur Scott Blaylock, III (Julie)of Pace, FL, Lynne Velie (Sandy) of Hortense, Roger Allen Blaylock (Donna) of Pace, FL, Hazel Blaylock-Lawson (Marty) of Hortense and William Blaylock (Karen) of Mobile, AL; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 7 brothers; a sister; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday evening (June 7, 2013) starting at 6PM at Hortense Church of God of Prophecy. A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (June 8, 2013) at 11AM at Hortense Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Robert Sloan, Rev. Hinton Johnson, Rev. Ricky Knox and Rev. Marty Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Live Oak Park Cemetery, Crestview, FL. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
