Mary Jay Painter

Mary Jay Andrews Painter, 77, also know as Mama, Gran and Jay Jay, died peacefully on Friday morning September 11, 2009 at home with all of her family around her. She was the daughter of the late Asa Chandler and Foy Hall Andrews. Jay was Born November 26, 1931 in Atlanta, GA and lived in Jacksonville, FL for the past 30 years, where she worked as a Medical Technologist at St. Vincent's Hospital and Riverside Hospital. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Button & Kenny Lee and Honey & Harry Rubin; two grandchildren, Mandi Jones (husband Scott) and B.J. Eskew; two great grandchildren, Konner and Ethan Jones all reside in Nahunta, GA. Jay is also survived by a sister, Marion A. Lyon of Jacksonville; a brother George Chandler Andrews of Tucker, GA; and many nieces and nephews. Jay was a very special, caring and loving person who was always helping someone. A graveside service will be held at the Amazing Grace Family Cemetery in Nahunta, GA on Wednesday morning, September 16, 2009 at 7:30AM, her favorite time of the day.
