Hortense-Mr. Matthew Dwight Hogan, 43, died early Saturday morning (Aug. 13, 2016) at South Georgia Health Systems, The Brunswick Campus after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Presque Isle, Maine he was the son of Dwight Hogan and Mary Ellen Hewitt. Preceded by his Uncle Martin Hewitt and his Grandfather Maurice Hewitt, Paternal Grandparents, Max and Erma Hogan.
Matthew had attended King Memorial Baptist Church. He loved to fish, go hunting and camping and had a love for doing woodwork. He was a self-employed welder.
Survivors include his wife, Beth McKenzie Hogan, one daughter, Alexis Jean Bradbury, of Maine, one step-son, Ricky Walker, of Hortense, father Dwight Hogan and stepmother, Colleen Hogan, of Maine, his mother, Mary Ellen Hewitt, of Bradenton, FL., Maternal grandmother, Marie Hewitt, of Eason, Maine, a sister and brother-in-law, Lori and Jimmy Rideout, of Maine, Also several aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Visitation will be Monday evening (August 15, 2016) from 6-9PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning (August 16, 2016) at 11 AM from The King Memorial Baptist Church in Atkinson.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
