Mavis Lugenia Bohannan

Nahunta-Mavis Lugenia Bohannan,74, of Nahunta, passed away Sunday morning (July 28,2019) at her son’s residence following an extended illness.

Born in Thomasville, GA., her parents were Olon Wimberly Johnson and Lugenia Willeby Johnson. She is also preceded by a step- son, Ray Bashaw; 4 brothers, Ernest Johnson, Lavorgel Johnson, Otis “Larry” Johnson, and Lavon Johnson.

Mrs. Mavis worked with Charlton County Visiting Nurse as a health care provider for many years. She attended Nahunta First Baptist Church, and enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with family.

Survivors include her 2 sons and their spouses, John C. Bohannan , III (Karen) of Axson, GA., and Jason C. Bohannan (Danise) of Nahunta, GA.; 3 grandchildren, Rena Bohannan, Leston Jacobs, Sr., and Kirstie Johns; 3 great grandchildren, Lillie Jacobs, Leston Jacobs, Jr., and Kimberly Jacobs; 1 brother, Leslie “William” Johnson of Glen St. Mary, FL.; 2 sisters, Gwen Johnson of Louisa, Kentucky, and Estelle Lewis of Pavo, GA. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives., and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (July 30, 2019) from 6-8 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday (July 31, 2019) at 11 AM at Frye Funeral Home with Pastor James Johnson officiating.

Burial will take place at 3PM in Enon Cemetery, 7991 Enon Rd. Pavo, GA 31778.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Edgerton, Leston Jocobs, Sr., Randy Johnson, Robert Johnson, Don Burkhardt, and Scott Burkhardt.

Family and Pallbearers are asked to meet at the Funeral Home Wednesday by 10:30AM.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
