Hickox- Maxine Thomas, 74, of Hickox died early Friday morning (August 26, 2011) at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Waycross, GA her parents were Foster and Gussie Crews Aldridge. Maxine was a bus driver for Brantley County and a member of Hickox Baptist Church and loved working in her yard, flowers and walking outdoors. Survivors include her husband, Elden Thomas of Hickox; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Joe & Tracey Herrin of Brunswick and Kevin & Valerie Herrin of Hoboken; a daughter, Jenni Thomas Flanagan of Hickox; 9 Grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Lavada Aldridge of Brinson and Wayne and Faye Aldridge of Waycross; 3 sisters, Jeanette Crews, Alice Jolley, and Patsy Aldridge all of Waycross; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Memorialization will be by cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
