Waynesville- Maybelle Arnold Lynes, 83, of Waynesville passed away Thursday afternoon (November 7, 2013) at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Hortense, GA her parents were George Freeman and Minnie Lee Hickox Arnold. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Jessie Lynes, a son, Robert Linton Lynes; a daughter, Jo Ann Copeland; a great grandson, Blaine Burns; 2 brothers, Dempsey Arnold and John Vance Arnold; and a sister, Lois Beckham. Maybelle was a homemaker and a member of Lulaton Baptist Church. Survivors include 2 Sons & Daughters-in-law, James F. & Bobbie Lynes of Beeville, TX and John T. & Lois Lynes of Blackshear; 4 Daughters & Sons-in-law, Mabel Darlene & Carroll Moody and Gail & James Shuman both of Hortense, Pam & Mac Cook of Hickox, and Charlotte Denise and Erwin "Sticky" Skipper of Hortense; 30 Grandchildren; Numerous Great and Great Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters and a Brother-in-law, Sadie Lynes of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Ethel & Culbert Johns of Nahunta; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Sunday evening (November 10, 2013) starting at 5PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Monday afternoon (November 11, 2013) at 2PM at Lulaton Baptist Church with Rev. Monroe Gill and Rev. Michael Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in Knox Cemetery in Lulaton. Pallbearers will be Marty Shuman, Keith Lowe, Wayne Patten, Tim Burkhead, Terry Jacobs, and Donnie May. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
