Waynesville-Michael "Mike" Dean Stone, 57 of Waynesville, passed away Sunday (June 30, 2013) at his residence following a brief illness. Born in Waycross, GA., his parents are Henry and Loretta Miles Stone, of Waynesville. Mike was a member of Waynesville Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and loved fabricating, he worked many years at the pulp mill as a machine operator. Survivors include his 2 children, Nathaniel Stone (April), of Waynesville, and Jenny Russell Bain (Tony), of Mississippi; 4 grandchildren, Devin Bain, Dylan, Olivia, and Deklyn Stone; his parents, Henry and Loretta Stone, of Waynesville; his sister and brother-in-law, Marcia Burgess (David), of Waynesville; and a special friend, Tina Miller, of Waynesville. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Visitation will be held Monday evening (July 1, 2013) from 6PM-8PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday (July 2, 2013) at 11AM, at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Carr officiating. Pallbearers will be David Burgess, Dylan Stone, George Griffis, James Justice, Jacob Burgess, and Otha Murkerson. Burial will follow in the Highsmith Cemetery, Waynesville.
