Michael Amon Griffin

Hortense – Michael Amon Griffin, 58, of Hortense passed away Saturday morning (March 25, 2023) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Douglas, GA his parents were Amon Griffin and Mary Lee Whitley Deen. He is also preceded in death by his stepfather, James Deen.

Michael was a painter who loved hot rods, working on his truck, fishing and drag racing.

Survivors include his wife, Shonda Henderson of Hortense; 3 sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Garrett Griffin (Margee), Anthony Mitchell Griffin and Amon Wayne Griffin all of Waynesville; a daughter, Carrie Ann Griffin of Hortense; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Deannia Griffin Ray (Rick) of Griffin, Pam Crews (Lamar) of Jesup and Karen Deen of Hortense; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service on Tuesday afternoon (March 28, 2023) starting at 2:30pm at Frye Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday afternoon (March 28, 2023) at 3pm at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Harrison officiating
