Mildred Highsmith

Jacksonville-Mildred Louise Jones Highsmith, 88 of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday (July 16, 2013) at the Earl B. Hadlow Center in Jacksonville, Fl. following an extended illness. Born in Columbus, GA., her parents were George and Clara Belle Jones. Married Frederick Lowell Highsmith from Nahunta, GA in 1948, and traveled the United States with him and their children during his Naval career. They retired to Jacksonville, FL in 1977. She leaves behind her loving husband Fred; her son, Frederick Highsmith, Jr.; daughter, Mary Patricia Tinklepaugh, (Jeff). Two granddaughters Courtney and Aubrey; son David (Toni), grandson, William (Julie); and a great-granddaughter, Addison. Her strength, wisdom and love will remain in our hearts forever. A Graveside service will be held Friday morning (July 19, 2013) at 11AM at New Hope Cemetery with Glen Hendrix speaking. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
