Folkston – Mrs. Mildred Olean McInvale Johns, 83, of Folkston passed away early Thursday morning (February 1, 2018) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness.
Born in Hoboken, GA her parents were Nathaniel McInvale and Sarah “Janie” Melton McInvale. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Constant Johns; a sister, Nancy Hodges; and 2 brothers, Bobby McInvale and Frances McInvale.
Mrs. Mildred loved her job as a debarker machine operator for Union Camp and was a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include her 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry & Debbie Parker of Folkston, John Willie & Ginger Johns of Hortense, and Jeffery & Darlene Johns of Folkston; a daughter, Dorothy Bean of Jacksonville; an adoptive daughter, Edna & Richard Davis of Jacksonville; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Brandi & Slade McCauley, Amy & Jeffery Martin, Kevin & Mandi Bean, Eric Johns (Nicole), and James & Jackie Keen; 12 great grandchildren, Jaycie Johns, Jayden Johns, Aviel M. “Peanut” Keen, Maddison Manning, Kaylyn Manning, Kyle Bean, Skyler Bean, Isabelle Bean Marley Bean, Whitney Bean, Kristine Bean, Lylah Fitzgerald, and Kenneth Davis; a sister, Betty Mae Johns of Riverside; a sister-in-law, Linda McInvale of Charlton Co; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held Friday evening (February 2, 2018) starting at 6PM at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church, 1998 Riverside Rd Nahunta GA 31553.
A funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon (February 3, 2018) at 2pm at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Johns, Juke Johns, Scotty Johns, Ronnie Hodge, Ricky Hartsville, Keith McInvale, and Adam Hodge.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Citizen Center in Folkston.
Pallbearers are asked to be at the church Saturday afternoon by 1:30pm.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
