Millard Alvin Baker, 76, of Waynesville, GA died Sunday evening ( Oct. 10, 2010) at his residence following a lengthy illness. Born in Ellenton, GA, Colquitt Co., his parents were Millard Fillmore Baker and Christine Patricia Hartley Baker. He is also, preceded in death by 3 brothers, Curtis, Bobby and Henry Baker. He served in the U. S. Army for 20 years where he served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and was a Electrical Technician at Baker's Heating and Air Conditioning. Millard was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Shiver Baker of Waynesville, 2 Sons Alton Baker of Moultrie, GA and Eric Baker of Wyoming; a Daughter, Christine Baker of Los Angeles, CA; 2 Grandchildren; 2 Brothers, Wayne and Gene Baker of Waynesville; and a Sister, Bonnie Palmer of Waynesville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Wednesday (October 13, 2010) evening starting at 6 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning (October 14, 2010) at 10 a.m. at Frye Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vance Colley officiating. Burial will follow in Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt County, GA at 3 p.m. with Military Rites. Pallbearers will be Ray Snyder, Jay Snyder, Clifton Snyder, Wayne Baker, Jr. Kenny Baker and Kenny Baker, Jr. Arrangement are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
