Mina Betty Jo "B.J." Crews

Lake City, FL – Mrs. Mina Betty Jo “B.J.” Crews, 87 passed away Tuesday afternoon (March 29, 2022) at Solaris Healthcare in Lake City, FL after an extended illness.
Born in Lake City, FL her parents were Walter Hobbs and Flarzell Hurst Hobbs. She is also preceded in death by her 1st husband, Barney Hickox; her 2nd husband, Jewell Crews; a daughter, Elaine Johns; a grandchild; 3 step-sons, Tony Hickox, Claude Hickox, and Morris Hickox; and a sister, Ruby Flarzell Duncan.
B.J. was a homemaker and a member of Hilliard Church of God. She loved reading her Bible and fishing.
Survivors include 2 grandchildren, Jason Johns and Brandi Johns; several great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Horton of Lake City, FL; a stepdaughter, Marlene Hickox; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday (March 31, 2022) from 1pm – 2pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon (March 31, 2022) at 2pm at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Powell officiating.
Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
