Mitchell Bell

April 18, 1929 — May 9, 2013

Hoboken-Leon "Mitchell" Bell, 84 of Hoboken, passed away Thursday morning (May 9, 2013) at Bayview Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born in Hoboken, GA, his parents were Leonard and Edna Griffin Bell. He was also preceded in death by a son, Eddie Bell; 3 sisters, Valley Haywood, Edith Jones, and Alice Hale. Mitchell was a retired Conductor for CSX Railroad, where he worked 46 years. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and was always a family man, who loved spending time with his family. Mitchell also enjoyed woodworking, growing onions, and was a member of the Hoboken Masons, and a member of Eastern Stars. Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Clarice Morgan Bell, of Hoboken; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Dewayne and Betty Bell, of Fernandina Beach, FL., Steve and Leta Bell, of Jacksonville, FL.; a daughter, Donna Bell, of Paris, KY; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Iva Harris, of Nahunta, Lavada and Earl Aldridge, of Bainbridge, GA. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Visitation will be held Saturday morning (May 11, 2013) from 10 AM-11 AM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday morning (May 11, 2013) at 11 AM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Yawn officiating. Burial will follow in Pierce Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chuck Bell, Dustin Bell, Davie Bell, Vince Grupposo, Andy Harris, Leonard Harris, and James Harris. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bayview Nursing Home in honor of Mitchell Bell. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
