Hoboken- Morris "Jeff" McBee, 84, of Hoboken died Monday night (March 7, 2011) at Southeast Georgia Health System after an extended illness. Born in St. Augustine, FL his parents were James Jesse & Caroline Todd McBee. After his loving wife of 50 years, Gladys Stewart McBee, passed away he moved to Hoboken and had lived here the past 15 years. Also preceded in death by 3-step- sons Earl, Andrew and John Hotaling, 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Mr. McBee served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a purple heart recipient. Before retirement he worked for Schenectady School Board in New York as a custodian and as a baker in N.Y. State, and had worked at Griswold Funeral Home in Schenectady, he also worked with Kroger in Waycross while his health was good and was of the Baptist faith. He also served as Past Governor for Lodge # 251 of The Loyal Order of Moose P.A.P. also loved singing, and was an avid ballroom dancer, he enjoyed playing the organ, gardening and animals. Survivors include his special family Marian & Scotty McCarty and Jordan & Chastity McCarty all of Hoboken. And several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Thursday evening (March 10, 2011) from 6-9PM at Frye Funeral Home Nahunta. A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon (March 11, 2011) at 1 P.M. in the Hoboken City Cemetery with Rev. Ion Johns officiating. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
