Folkston – Myra Janet Johns Pearce, 85, of Folkston passed away Tuesday evening (November 22, 2022) at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness.
Born in Folkston, GA her parents were Johnny James “J.J.” Johns and Sara Ann Crews Johns. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Nelson Pearce; 3 brothers, J.E. Johns, Arnold Johns and Infant Johns; and 7 sisters, Pauline Johns, Kathleen Kahlich, Christine Cowart, Hazel Brannen and Betty Ruth Baker, Inez Pike and Mary Jean Austin.
Myra was a secretary at Union Camp in Savannah for 35 years and a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and her church family, fishing, gardening, and loved life on the farm.
Survivors include 3 sisters-in-law, Manda Lee Johns, Willie Maude Johns both of Folkston and LaRue Richards of Youngsville, NC; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Kahlich of Savannah; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday (November 26, 2022) at 11AM at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Riverside Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
