Myrtice Juanita Zorn

Hortense-Myrtice Juanita “Sloan” Zorn, 82, of Hortense, passed away Friday (August 7, 2020) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross after an extended illness.

Her parents were the late Vernie and Mary “Taylor” Sloan. She is also preceded in death by her husband Rev. Hugh Zorn, 3 sisters, Estelle Sloan, Louise Sloan, and Iris Bradley, and a brother, Marvin Sloan.

Mrs. Myrtice was a student financial consultant at Valdosta State University and a member of Hortense Church of God of Prophecy. She loved reading the Bible, watching the Christian network, doing word search, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Gary Zorn of Valdosta, GA., and a daughter and her son-in-law, Nita and Donnie Sirmans also of Valdosta, GA., 3 grandchildren, Kaleb Sirmans, Kyndall Sirmans, and Kamren Sirmans. a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Charles Ashby of Hortense. Also, her cat, Smokey. And several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVD-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A visitation will be held Monday evening (August 10, 2020) from 6 PM until 8 PM at Frye Funeral Home Chapel.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday (August 11, 2020) at 3 PM at the Hortense Cemetery with Bishop Rob Hutto officiating.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
