Myrtle Baker Harris, 93, of Nahunta, GA died Thursday evening (March 26, 2009) at BayView Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Born in Brantley Co, GA, her parents were George W. and Mary Magalene "Sister" Roberson Baker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Harris, a son, Billy Harris and 2 infant sons, 3 brothers, Oden "Red" Baker, Mack Lee Baker and Leroy Baker, 2 Brothers-in-law, Loomis Peacock and Jimmy Mercier. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. An was a member of Hoboken Church of God. She is survived by 3 Grandchildren and spouses, Lori and Michael Lee, Lisa Renee and Andy Jacobs and Billy Ray and April Harris all of Nahunta; a Daughter-in-law, Merlene Harris of Nahunta; 7 Great Grandchildren, Anthony Lee, Kirstin Harris, Andrew, Aaron and Austin Jacobs, Jadyn Poppwell and Baby Harris of Nahunta; 2 Sisters, Nadine Baker Harris Peacock and Pauline Baker Mercier both of Hoboken; Several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mrs. Harris will be taken to her grand daughter's Lisa ( 48 Billy Harris Rd. Nahunta) for visitation at 5 p.m., Saturday evening. Funeral services will be Sunday (March 29, 2009) at 2 p.m. at Hoboken Church of God with Rev. Ion Johns officiating and Rev. Charles Florey. Burial will follow in Harris Cemetery, Nahunta. Pallbearers will be Charles Harris, Roger Harris, Skipper Harris, Thomas Harris, Ferrell Crews and Bubba Mercier. Honorary pallbearer will be Bimbo Harris.
