Myrtle Lucille Knox Hickox

Myrtle Lucille Knox Hickox, 91, of Nahunta, passed away Saturday morning (March 8, 2014) at Southeast Georgia Health Systems in Brunswick following an extended illness. Born in Folkston, GA, her parents were William "Bill" Knox and Vina Bell Mizell Knox. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Hickox of 76 years, 2 Sons, Joseph "Buddy" Hickox and Ronald Hickox. 1 Sister, Ruby Thompson. 3 Brothers, Virgil Knox, Edward Knox, and Bobby Knox. Step Mother, Mary Crews Knox and 1 Special Friend, Annie Riggins. Myrtle enjoyed her life as a Housewife. She was of the Primitive Baptist Faith and attended the New Hope Church. She loved her Children, and the many Great, and Great Great Grand Children. She also loved to read, cook, garden and her membership with the AARP Senior Citizens. Survivors include her 2 Sons, David William Hickox (Sue) of Hickox and Glenn Hickox (Cheryl) of Hickox. 2 Daughters, Myrtis Haney (David) of Hickox and Linda Bishop (Ken) of Hickox. 1 Daughter-in-Law, Nell Hickox of Hickox. 1 Brother, Thomas Knox of Folkston. 13 Grand Children, Michael Haney (Angela) - Hoboken, Billy Hickox (Brenda) - Hickox, Kim Dent (Anthony) - Jesup, Danette Wainright (William) - Hickox, Martha Vaughn - Alma, Teresa Highsmith (Scott) - Hickox, Lisa Trowell (David) - Alma, Tammy Corbett (Donnie) - Hickox, Randall Hickox - Hickox, Amanda Johnson - Hickox, Kenya Clark (Ken) - Hickox, Keith Bishop - Hickox, and Landon Hickox (Leah) - Brunswick. 26 Great Grand Children, 7 Great Great Grand Children and 2 Special Friends, Jane Herrin - Hickox and Betty Jo Herrin - Folkston. Also several Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday (March 11, 2014) at Frye Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Elder Johnny Lee, Elder Alvin Johnson, and Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Visitation will be held Monday evening (March 10, 2014) at Frye Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 PM. Internment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randall Hickox, William Wainright, Michael Haney, Keith Bishop, Billy Hickox, and Landon Hickox. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the AARP, and New Hope Church Members.
