Neal Douglas Johns

Nahunta-Neal Douglas Johns, 69, of Nahunta passed away Thursday (August 27, 2020) at Lake City VA Medical Center in Lake City, FL.

Born in Brunswick, GA. his parents were William O. Johns and Flossie Robinson Johns. He is also preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Johns .

Neal worked for E.W. Merritt construction as a heavy equipment operator. He worked on go cart engines, and loved go cart racing, fishing, and spending time with his son.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Johns of Tx; 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Eric Johns of MI., and Damon Johns (Nicole) of Nahunta; 2 step-daughters, Samantha Strickland and Eva Shoultz both of TX; 2 grandchildren, Alana Marie Garza Johns-Perez and Flossie Annette Garza Johns-Perez both of Tx; 1 sister, Annette Washam of Nahunta; 1 nephew, Matt Washam (Aline) of Hickox; 1 niece, Shannon Thomas (Buddy Herrin) of Hortense; great nephews and nieces, Drew Thomas, Jade Thomas, Shaun Washam, and Scott Washam. Also several other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening (August 30, 2020) from 6-8PM at Frye Funeral Home Chapel.

A graveside will be held Monday (August 31, 2020) at 11AM at Bethlehem Cemetery with Rev. Trey Keene officiating.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
