Nola Mae Thomas Moody

Hortense-Nola Mae Thomas Moody, 87, of Hortense died Friday night (May 18, 2012) at Wayne Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Patterson, GA her parents were Lonnie & Lizzie Smith Thomas. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Lester Edwin Moody; a son, J.E. Moody; a daughter, Latrelle Boatwright; and several brothers and sisters. Nola was a dietician for Wayne Memorial Hospital and a member of Satilla Missionary Baptist Church. Also she was a wonderful mother and friend who loved fishing, gardening, cooking and going to yard sales with her sister. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Annette & Mark Rowell of Hortense; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Glynell Moody of Hortense and Jerry & Wanda Moody of Hoboken; 10 grandchildren, Christy & Justin Johns of Hickox, Tony & Julie Rowell of Nahunta, Kevin & Lynn Moody, Keith & Rhonda Moody and Lindy Davis all of Hortense, Tracy & Shannon Moody of Odum, Terry & Wendy Boatwright of Hortense, Dana & Wes Williams of Kville, Kerry & Cindy Moody of Blackshear and Shannon & Kevin Krushchwitz of St. George; 28 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Monday evening (May 21, 2012) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (May 22, 2012) at 11AM at Satilla Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. R.C. Mathis, Rev. Reggie Herrin, Rev. E.C. Crews and Rev. Daniel Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Satilla Cemetery in Hortense. Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Tony Rowell, Kevin Moody, Keith Moody, Tracy Moody, Terry Boatwright and Kerry Moody.
