Mrs. Nora Etta Anderson Carver, 82, of Hortense died Wednesday evening (December 31,2014) at her residence with her loving family surrounding her. Born in Hortense, Georgia her parents were Charles and Gatsy Sloan Anderson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, M. L. "Mack" Carver, a son, Steve Carver, 2 Brothers, J.T. Anderson and Estues Anderson, 1 Sister,Allie Mae Brauda. Ms. Nora was a homemaker and a very faithful member of Satilla Missionary Baptist Church in Hortense. She loved working with flowers, gardening, her ministry, baking bread so all could hear a scripture along with very much prayer, and most of all she loved her family. Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Marjorie Carver, of Hortense and Bobby and Cheryl Carver, of Hoboken, 7 Grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Danielle Carver, Matthew and Casey Carver, James and Kristin Carver, Christina and Chris Thrift, Miranda Carver, Allison Corbett, and Candice and Gary Mintier, 11 Great Grandchildren, Landon Carver, Lydia Carver, Layla Carver, Fisher Carver, Elle Carver, Abbe Carver, Grace Carver, Nora Carver, Gunter Thrift, Rylee Thrift, and Tripp Mintier. A brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Margaret Anderson, of Hortense. A daughter-in-law, Deneise Carver, 2 sister-in-laws, Betty M. Anderson and Betty R. Anderson. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A visitation will be held Thursday afternoon (January 1, 2015) starting from 6 - 8 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral services for Mrs. Carver will be held Friday morning (January 2, 2015) at 11 AM at The Satilla Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Loren Bryant and Rev. Daniel Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Satilla Cemetery in Hortense. Pallbearers will be , Chris Thrift, Landon Carver, Fisher Carver, Gunter Thrift, Chad Carver, Matthew Carver, and James Carver. Honorary pallbearers will be Satilla Missionary Baptist Church Adult Sunday School Class. Pallbearers are asked to be at the church Friday by 10:30 am.
