Norma Jean Moody

Hortense-Norma Jean Oliver Moody, 54 of Hortense, passed away Sunday (May 5, 2013) at her residence following an extended illness. Born in Blackshear, GA., her parents are Shirley Strickland Duggan, of Hortense, and the late James Edward Oliver, Sr. Norma was a homemaker, and a member of Philadelphian Wesleyan Sawgrass Church. She loved to decorate. Survivors include her husband, Archie Moody, of Hortense; 2 children, Warren Moody (Heather Strickland), and Gussie Taylor (David Wimberly), all of Hortense; a grandson, Dawson Taylor; her mother and step-father, Shirley Duggan (Ben), of Hortense; 6 brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward Oliver (Tammis), of Manor, Timmy Oliver, of Hortense, Dean Oliver (Becky), of Brunswick, Wayne Oliver (Diane), of Argyle, GA, Harry Oliver, of Hortense, and Littlie James Oliver (Ashley), of Waycross; a special great aunt and uncle, Hazel Newsome (Roger). Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Tuesday (May 7, 2013) at 6 PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday (May 8, 2013) at 2 PM, at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. R.C. Mathis, Pastor Ron Stayman, and Rev. Sheldon Rowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Hortense Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brock Oliver, Cason Oliver, Alton Oliver, Lil Dean Oliver, Joey Oliver, Eric Causey, Duck Causey, and Josh Roberson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dawson Taylor, Jackson Causey, Matthew Holmes, Breanna Oliver, and Emily Oliver. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
