Norman Lenard Jacobs

Norman Lenard Jacobs, 67 of Waynesville, passed away Thursday morning (May 26, 2016) at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Waverly, GA., his parents were Jesse James Jacobs, Sr. and Ursula Wilson Jacobs. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Jesse Jacobs, Jr. and Calvin Jacobs.

Norman worked many years as a surveyor for Shupe Surveying. He was of the Baptist Faith, and loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his grandbabies. He had a great sense of humor, and was always making people laugh.

Survivors include his wife, Freida Jacobs, of Waynesville; three daughters and a son-in-law, Melissa and David Harper, Jr., of Waynesville, Teresa Jacobs, and Rhonda Jacobs, both of Brunswick; 9 grandchildren, Amanda Lastinger, Brittany Jenkins, Meghan Maxwell, Eli Lemmond, Michael Jenkins, Brooke Lemmond, Cadee Harper, Brooke Harper, and Anthony Scoggins; one great grandchild on the way; three brothers, Jerry Jacobs, of PA, Joe Jacobs, and Pete Goolsby, both of Waynesville; 2 sisters, Linda Johnson, of Baxley, and Donna Harrison, of Hortense. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Friday (May 27, 2016) from 6PM-8PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday (May 28, 2016) at 2PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Carr officiating.

Burial will follow in Horse Stamp Cemetery, in Waverly, GA.

Pallbearers will be Carson Waggoner, Wade Lastinger, David Harper, Jr., Wayne Jacobs, Donald Jacobs, and Dave Raczynski.
