Folkston-Mrs. Odessa Louise O'Berry Byrd,48,of Folkston died Friday afternoon at The Georgia Southeast Health System in Brunswick after a sudden illness. Born in St. Mary's, Georgia she was the daughter of Simon Peter and Linda Nell Scott O'Berry. Odessa was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith, she loved her children and grandchildren and spending time with them, she collected Native American Items and was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan. Preceded in death by her parents and a great-nephew, Jeremy Christopher O'Berry. She survived by her 2-children, Lisa Diane Byrd, of Kingsland and Charles "Chuck" Ray Byrd, Jr., of Folkston, 11-grandchildren, Tristen Byrd, Harmony Hogan, Trey Byrd, Nicolas Byrd, Summer Akers, Brandon and Noal Hogan, Makaila, Leland, Seth and Tanzie Raulerson, 6-brothers and sisters and their spouses, Tommy and Angie O'Berry, of Kingsland, Felicia Spence, of Folkston, Wilson "Joebo" O'Berry, of Woodbine, Pete and Cindy O'Berry, of Racepond, Dale O'Berry, of Folkston and Nell and Foster McNabb, of Waynesville, a special sister-in-law, Eva Thomas, also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held at the graveside from 1 till 3 P.M. Monday. Graveside service will be held at 3 P.M. Monday (Oct. 3, 2011) from the Indian Mound Church Cemetery in Millwood with Bro. Joe McSwain and Bro. Todd Carter officiating. Pallbearers will be Tiny Griffin, Travis, Dalton, Anthony, Paul and Brian O'Berry. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
