Woodbine – Patricia “Irene” Lindsay, 66, of Woodbine passed away Tuesday evening (May 24, 2016) at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick after an extended illness.
Born in Woodbine, GA her parents were Howard and Helen Drury Wilson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William A. “Punk” Lindsay; a brother, Howard Wilson, Jr.; and 2 nephews, Howard Buddy Drawdy and Allan Crews.
Irene was a Scale Clerk in Camden County for many years and a member of Horsestamp United Methodist Church. She loved being with her family, taking care of her grandchildren, canning, telling stories, watching and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and fishing with her husband Punk.
Survivors include her son, Billy Lindsay of Woodbine; 3 grandchildren, Julia Lindsay, Billy Lindsay, and Zachary Lindsay; a sister, Diane Wilson of Woodbine; a sister-in-love, Donna Wilson of Waynesville; 6 nieces, Christi Buckner of Woodbine, Tricia McDowell of Brunswick, Lindsay Stallard (Russell) of Dairen, Jan Griffin of Yulee, Maria Lloyd of Folkston, and little Frances Crews; and also several other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on hour prior to the service Saturday morning (May 28, 2016)starting at 9am.
A graveside service will be held Saturday morning (May 28, 2016) at 10am at Quarterman Cemetery in Waverly with Rev. Emory Wilson officiating.
Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Allen Crews, Donnie Crews, Edwin Griffin, Russell Stallard, Mason Wagner, Paul O’Neal, and Thomas Cottle.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
