Peggy Ann Rowell Johns

Hickox – Peggy Ann Rowell Johns, 68, of Hickox passed away Wednesday afternoon (July 13, 2016) at her residence after an extended illness.

Born in Jesup, GA her parents were Hardie and Ernie Roberson Rowell. She is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Penny Hutcheson; 2 brothers, J.L. Rowell and Jerry Rowell; and a sister, Betty Anderson.

Peggy was a homemaker and a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and loved her grandkids, fishing, and gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Johns of Hickox; 3 children and their spouses, Karen & Tony Rhoden, Tammy & Travis Hutcheson, and William & Lori Johns all of Hickox; 5 grandchildren, Dustin Rhoden (Jessica), Heather Hutcheson, Taylor Walker, Sadie Johns, and Liam Johns; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald & Helen Rowell of Blackshear, James Rowell of Lakeland, FL, and Bobby & Judy Rowell of Brunswick; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean & Carswell Royster of Hortense and Lois Joyce of Brunswick; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening (July 14, 2016) starting at 6PM at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Friday morning (July 15, 2016) at 10:30am at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright, Rev. E.C. Crews and Rev. Gerald Johns officiating.

Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donovan Johns, Matthew Kuechmann, Kelly Rowell, Kevin Royster, Randy Johns, Daniel Batten, Elliot Ippolito, and David Royster.
