Penny Brooke Hutcheson

Penny Brooke Hutcheson, 11, of Nahunta died Monday (August 3, 2009) at Memorial Medical Center, Savannah, GA after a sudden illness. Born in Waycross, her parents are Travis W. and Tammy Johns Hutcheson. She is preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents, Hardie and Ernie Rowell and Riley and Sadie Johns; and her paternal great grandparents, Hazel Hersey Hutcheson and James W. & Iris E. Merritt. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a student at Nahunta Elementary School where she loved recess. Learning to cook was very special to her. She loved her sister, cousins and friends at school, enjoyed helping her mom in the office and had a smile that would light up the room when she came in. She was a blessing to all her Buddies at Hayner Hunting Club and gave the final gift of life by being an organ donor. Her family said Penny always wanted to go to Hawaii and that they were told that one of her gifts of life went to someone in Hawaii. She is survived by her parents, Travis W. and Tammy Johns Hutcheson of Hickox; a sister, Heather Marie Hutcheson of the home; maternal grandparents, Kenny and Peggy Rowell Johns of Hickox; paternal grandparents, Jerry & Kim Hutcheson of Hortense; paternal grandmother, Reba Bond-Nelson, of Ormond Beach, FL; Paternal Great-Grandfather, Warnie M. Hutcheson, of Brunswick, cousins, Taylor Walker, Sadie Johns and Dustin Rhoden; very special uncles and aunts, Wyatt Hutcheson, William "Bubba" & Lori Johns and Tony and Karen "Nanny" Rhoden all of Hickox; also several other relatives and a host of friends. Visitation will start at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta. Funeral services will be Thursday morning (Aug. 6, 2009) at 11:00 A.M. from the Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright, Rev. Gerald Johns and Wyatt Hutcheson officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in New Hope Cemetery in Hickox. Active pallbearers will be Tim Thomas, Randy Poston, Elliott Ippolito, Brad Smith, Matt Kuechmann and Michael Ingram. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Nahunta Elementary School, and are ask to please meet Thursday morning. at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church at 10:15A.M.
