Mr. Phillip "Smokey" Harvey Fincher, 56, of Nahunta died Monday afternoon ( August 16, 2010) at his residence after an extended illness. Born in Portsmouth, VA, his parents are Charles Fincher and Doris Jean Wensil Fincher. Smokey was a retired boilermaker for the National Boiler Service and enjoyed working in his yard. He had also lived life to the fullest and enjoyed being with family and friends. Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Carmen & Robert Loudin of Cleveland, NC and Carrie & Tony Fisher of East Spencer, NC; 8 Grandchildren, Damon, Trevor, Chase, Drake, Devin and Eli Dayne,Tony and Michael all of North Carolina; his father and step-mother, Charles & Carolyn Fincher of Adrain, GA; his mother, Doris Jean Wensil Fincher of Brunswick, 4 brothers, Rick, Tim, Micky and Tony Fincher; 2 sisters, Kathie Holt and Tammy Shock; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service will be held Saturday evening (August 21, 2010) at 5 PM at Smokey residence 18843 Raybon Rd East Nahunta, GA 31553. Memorialization will be by cremation. Arrangement were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
