Rev. David Lynn Batten

February 9, 1961 — April 3, 2021

Nahunta-Rev. David Lynn Batten,60, of Nahunta passed away early Saturday morning at The South Georgia Health Systems Brunswick Campus after a short illness.

Born in Waycross, Georgia Bro. David was the son of Charlie Auto and Ezell Knight Batten. He was also preceded by a brother Danny Wayne Batten.

A member of The Hickox Praise and Worship Church Bro. David owned and operated Batten’s Repair Service. He loved his work and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandbabies. Most of all he loved serving The Lord and leading lost souls to Christ.

Survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Carol Jean Williams Batten, of Nahunta, 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, David “Gene” Batten (Marion Rachelle), of Nahunta Jack Anthony Batten, also of Nahunta, 3 grandchildren, Gavin Anthony Batten, Masey Belle Lawrence and Dawson Gage Batten, a brother and sister-in-law, Charlie “Randy” Batten (Catherine), of Nahunta, also several Nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (April 6, 2021) starting at 6 P.M. at Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta.

Graveside services will be Wednesday afternoon (April 7, 2021) at 3 P.M. at The McClellan Cemetery in Hickox with Rev. Chuck Allen and Rev. Otis Johns officiating.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Batten, Calvin Herrin, Bo Lloyd, Korey Sweat, Gavin Batten and Tucker Hyers.

Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing, also face mask are highly recommended at the service. Anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
