Rev. Hugh Gary Zorn, 75, of Hortense died Friday afternoon (August 6, 2010) at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick after an extended illness. Born in Hinesville, GA his parents were William Fulton and Ruth Howard Zorn. He is also preceded in death by three brothers, Kendall, Louie and Archie Zorn. Rev. Zorn was a long time minister for the Church of God of Prophecy in Brantley County and also served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Myrtice J. Zorn of Hortense; a son, Gary Lee Zorn of Hortense; a daughter and son-in-law, Nita G. & Donnie Sirmans of Valdosta; 3 grandchildren, Kaleb, Kyndall & Kamren Sirmans all of Valdosta; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Naomi & Marion Hawthorne of Darien and Gloris Hughs of Hinesville; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Sunday evening (August 8, 2010) starting at 6:00P.M. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Monday morning (August 9, 2010) at 11:00A.M. at Hortense Church of God of Prophecy with Bishop Billy Adams, Rev. Hinton Johnson and Rev. Bruce Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Bradley, Sr., Paul Bradley, Jr., Ronnie Sharpe, Gene Oglesby, Dave Zorn, Ricky Zorn, Mike Zorn and Jerome Williams.
