Hoboken – Rev. Thomas C. Lanier, 73, of Hoboken passed away Monday morning (October 7, 2024) at his residence after an extended illness.
Born in Jesup, GA his parents were Larty H. Lanier and Irene Parker Lanier. He is also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Barabara Willis and Ellen Kersey; and a brother, Arnold Lanier.
Rev. Thomas was retired from R.E.A and was a member of Waynesville Church of God. He loved preaching and never met a stranger. Rev. Thomas loved spending time with his family and especially his grand kids, playing the guitar and all musical instruments, and mowing grass.
Survivors include his wife, Claudie Dubose Lanier of Hoboken; a son, Jason Thomas Lanier of Hoboken; a daughter, Vickie Lanier of Sylvester, GA; 4 grandchildren, Taylor Lanier, Brittany Lanier (Tyler Fair), Nikki Drury Vester (Floyd Vester) and Chelsey Drury; 5 great grandchildren, Kaylee Mae Thomas, Azzy Thomas, Wesley Thomas, Topanga Vester, Jaxson Whetsell, and one granddaughter on the way, Jamie Sue Fair; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday (October 9, 2024) starting at 6pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Thursday morning (October 10, 2024) at 11am at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie Newman, Rev. Jason Marden, Rev. Bobby Tatum and Rev. Larry Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Fair, Floyd Vester, Tucker Harper, Joseph Hutchinson, Chris McDonald and Nick Williams.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
